The Current Situation
Curaçao, like Bonaire, has recently experienced significant, government-regulated price increases across basic infrastructure. Energy costs have risen dramatically, and because nearly everything has to be imported to the islands, the cost of nearly everything has also increased.
How This Affects Our Family and Ministry
As part of the Cru Curaçao team, our core mission revolves around campus outreach, mentoring, and community engagement. These price spikes hit our personal household budget heavily because we run the entire ministry office directly out of our home.
- The Home Office Base: Operating the ministry’s administrative headquarters, printing resources, and managing daily work operations from home means our personal household electricity and water bills have surged under the new utility tariffs.
- Outreach on the Move: Meeting students and ministry contacts where they are requires constant travel. With fuel prices climbing, the cost of driving for campus visits and ministry events has significantly increased our monthly transport expenses.
To maintain our family’s focus on this outreach and keep our home-based office running smoothly without running into a personal deficit, we need to adapt. We need to increase our monthly personal living support by about 10% to cover these rising food and household utility costs.
Our Need: Partnering in the Increase
We are looking for 15 partners to increase their monthly support by $25, or for new partners to step into a monthly commitment.
